Patrice Keegan
Waltons New School of Music Faculty
Hailing from Newcastle, Co. Dublin, Patrice studied both piano and organ at the DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama (now the TU Dublin Conservatoire), from which she graduated with First Class Honours in 2006. During her time there she won many prizes in both instruments, including the Feis Ceoil’s Stanford Prize and the Actors’ Church Union Prize. While at DIT, she was also Organ Scholar at Trinity College Dublin, and following her degree she took up the position of Organ Scholar at St. Patrick’s Cathedral, combining this role with instrumental teaching and regular accompanist work. In 2009 Patrice completed her Masters in Organ Performance with honours, culminating in a recital in St. Patrick’s Cathedral for which the world-renowned organist Ben van Oosten was the external examiner. She has also participated in a number of courses in both piano and organ, including the Académie de Musique Tibor Varga in Switzerland and the Oundle Academy in Cambridge, as well as numerous masterclasses. In 2011 Patrice was a participant in the Jan Kucharski International Organ Competition in Poland, and in 2012 she performed in the Dun Laoghaire summer recital series alongside Niamh McCormack and David Collins. Patrice regularly performs throughout Ireland on both organ and piano and is currently the resident organist in Holy Cross Church, Dundrum. She accompanies many of our Friday Casual Concerts and End-of-Year Concerts.
