Waltons New School of Music
In addition to enrolling for lessons in a wide range of instruments, subjects and genres, we are also now enrolling for a number of acclaimed group courses, workshops and ensembles, both in-school and online, taking place in our 2024-2025 Second Term (January – April 2025).
Our In-School (in-person) courses and ensembles take place in the New School itself, and our Online courses and workshops take place where you are, which can be anywhere in Ireland or around the world.

Second Term Theory
Musicianship & Songwriting Courses
The development of a complete musician requires far more than simply learning to play an instrument or sing. Tuition in theory, musicianship and/or songwriting is recommended for students of all ages, whether they are studying classical, traditional, jazz, popular or world music instruments.

The New School has one of the most comprehensive Leaving Certificate Music programmes of any school in Ireland, and our online courses can be taken by students living anywhere in the country. Upcoming programme elements include both a comprehensive Easter Revision Course on two days over the Easter break and a one-day Pre-Exam Revision Workshop on the Saturday before the June exam.

(Early Years) Music Courses
Designed for children aged 3-4, 4-5 and 5-6, the New School’s acclaimed Music for Me pre-instrumental (early years) music courses provide a unique introduction to music and music-making, all in a nurturing and creative environment.

New School ensemble members, under the direction of dedicated directors/teachers, enjoy the unique pleasures of group music-making with weekly practice sessions and regular performances of a varied repertoire. The ensembles’ aim is not only to make some great music but to have a lot of fun in doing so! We offer five ensembles in our Second Term.
