After a successful online Third Term (April-June), we are continuing our online tuition programme for the upcoming Summer Term (July-August) as well. As with the Third Term, all 2020 Summer Term online tuition is offered at specially discounted fees.

Lessons

The 2020 Summer Term is divided into two parts, and students enrolling for private (one-person) or partner (two-person) lessons can enrol for one or both parts:

Part One (5 Weeks) • 30 June – 30 July
Part Two (4 Weeks) • 4 – 27 August

Online tuition is offered in the Summer Term for students of all ages and skill levels, and for many of the instruments and subjects that we regularly teach. See our Online Tuition page for the full list, as well as Summer Term online tuition fees.

Online Courses for Beginners

We offer reduced-fee online summer versions of five of our most popular ‘Introducing’ instrumental and vocal courses for beginners.

All group classes consist of 80 minutes of tuition, divided into two 40-minute sessions with a 10-minute break between them.

This online summer version of our long-running Music Fundamentals I course is an introduction to the essentials of reading and writing musical notation, as well as elementary musical grammar, for music-reading beginners.

Online Intensive Lessons

Single one- or two-hour online Intensive Lessons – for all skill levels – can be arranged for almost any instrument (including voice/singing) and subject taught at the New School.

Intensive lessons are ideal for:

• Students who would like to schedule their lessons flexibly or who cannot be accommodated on our regular timetable
• Students preparing for performances, auditions, entrance examinations, competitions or practicals
• Prospective students wishing to ‘try out’ lessons or instruments

Online Irish Music Tasters

Designed for absolute beginners of all ages and running since 1999, the New School’s Irish Music Tasters for individuals and groups are brief immersions in the world of Irish traditional music and have introduced hundreds of people from all over the world to its beautiful melodies and infectious rhythms. We are now offering online versions of these acclaimed workshops, which can be taken where you are, anywhere in the world. We offer:
