Waltons New School of Music Faculty

Outreach Programme

Michael DunphyMick comes from a musical family in Co. Waterford, and music has been a huge part of his life from a young age. He has been teaching and performing Irish traditional music (his main instruments are bodhrán, guitar, whistle and singing) for over 25 years and continues to perform extensively, both as a solo artist and with various acts across Ireland and internationally. Mick’s belief that music is for everyone has led him to develop and facilitate numerous outreach music programmes for children and adults with disabilities or from disadvantaged areas, and he has done a lot of volunteer work with such organisations as the National Council for the Blind.
